A better workplace for all

These days, sustainability isn't just a buzzword – it's a core value. As a LEED-certified property, you can be sure that Berlin/Vallila is a place where your people and company can thrive while minimizing the impact on the planet.

It all starts with
the building

Real estate accounts for a third of Europe's total carbon emissions, therefore playing a major role in reducing them.

Berlin/Vallila's renovation of existing industrial structures, combined with expert collaboration and advanced technology, provided a strong foundation for energy-efficient, modern spaces.

Naturally warm, naturally bright

The thick brick walls help keep Berlin/Vallila warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Berlin/Vallila produces over 80 % of the energy needed to heat the building with carbon-free heat pumps. The remaining 20 % is produced with emission-free circular heating. Combined, these solutions make Berlin/Vallila top of the class in energy efficiency.

The building’s large windows let in plenty of natural light, reducing the need for artificial lighting. When the sunlight isn’t enough, energy-efficient and adjustable LED lights will keep things lit at just the right level.

LEED the way

LEED is the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for buildings. Achieving LEED Gold is a milestone we're incredibly proud of. It validates our efforts to create a building that minimizes its environmental impact and maximizes the well-being of our tenants. From prioritizing sustainable commuting options to ensuring healthy indoor air quality, every detail of Berlin/Vallila is designed with a greener future in mind.

Easy to come
and go

Commuting to and from Vallila is a breeze, whatever your choice of vehicle.

Berlin/Vallila offers easy access to Pasila Station via a short walk, tram ride, or bike. A city bike station is right next door, and the airport is just a quick drive away.

From easy-access bike racks and large indoor bike storage with electric bike changing stations to modern showers and changing rooms, the on-site facilities have been designed especially with cyclists in mind.

Part of a buzzing community

🐝 How great are bees? They help many plants pollinate and are a crucial part of the ecosystem. HumbleBee Housing Project is bringing these hard workers all around the metropolitan area of Helsinki. This initiative shows creative entrepreneurship that perfectly fits Berlin/Vallila! They are providing new and exciting solutions to complex problems and offering companies a chance to be a part of the important work.

While a standalone beehive will pollinate its immediate surroundings and is compelling in its own right, its overall impact is relatively confined. Beekeeping done right will, however, enrich the local ecology for kilometers around the hive. A networked beekeeping approach directly supports 10 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations.¹

We are proud and honored to host a community of bees on the roof of our building, and support this great project! As a sweet bonus, we will also get some honey produced by the bees to use as company gifts. 🍯
